Paintball is great fun and now people are trying to ban it!

It makes no sense to me why in such an increasingly militarised society they would want to ban paintball... unless it's to stop people from developing the skills to form their own guerilla style forces, but that sounds a bit paranoid even by my standards.
But considering that they're now using video games to sell the army, paintball would seem like the ideal recruiting strategy. Are there more details on their reasons for banning it?
Yes, actually - although it does seem a bit far fetched I might been inclined to agree - don't see the aim of banning it, it's not like it has a rep of being dangerous.....
